WorldSBK: Lucas Mahias Signs with Kawasaki Puccetti Racing for the World Superbike 2021 Campaign

By Admin
Lucas Mahias, currently second in the World Supersport Championship, is set to make the move up into the WorldSBK Class of 2021.
Mahias has had a successful run with the Puccetti team in the Supersport class to date, rectifying his rocky start to the 2019 season by taking six podiums back-to-back in the second half of the year, including wins in France and Qatar.
2020 continued where 2019 ended for the Frenchman and Puccetti Racing, failing to finish below the top 5 – the only exception being a DNF Portugal. Mahias has been a threat throughout the season, and is well-deserving of his current championship position – the only other man on the grid more consistent being the champion himself.
Puccetti Racing’s sole rider in the 2020 WorldSBK class is Xavi Fores, whose best result has been 8th place, and currently resides at 15th in the championship. With Mahias having worked with Kawasaki Puccetti Racing for the last two seasons, it should hopefully be a comfortable promotion.
Will his good luck follow him to the top class? We will have to wait until 2021 to find out.
