By Admin
Battley RT MotorSport by SKM-Kawasaki’s Nick Kalinin returned to Parc Ferme this afternoon, after taking the top spot in the final Superpole of the season.
The Ukrainian started the weekend with a first-place in the first Free Practice session on Friday, ahead of Bruno Ieraci. Along with the second Free Practice, Nick’s combined result on Friday was P3 overall. The Odessan continued his charge this morning, his time of 1:52.376 putting him in the Top 5 for FP3.
In the afternoon, Nick headed out for the sunny Superpole with confidence. While eyes were on the title contenders, Kalinin took to the Top 10 in the first minutes, and continued to improve relentlessly throughout the session. It was in the penultimate lap that Nick stole Pole from the Italian Ieraci. Despite his rivals’ best efforts, no one could dethrone Nick’s P1 position, resulting in the Odessan taking the top spot of the grid.
Kalinin #22: “I am very proud that I won, and made everyone who supports me happy! Thank you for believing in me, it is very important for me. Such a big achievement motivates me even more, I will work at 200%!”
Nick’s previous Parc Ferme appearance was in Donington 2019, after achieving third place from 30th on the grid. Will we see the Ukrainian flag return to the podium this weekend? Kalinin will be the one to watch, for sure.
