WorldSBK: Scott Redding signs for Bonovo Action BMW

By Luke Newman
BMW have finalised their WorldSBK lineup for the 2024 season, which sees Scott Redding move to Bonovo Action BMW.
After the announcement that Toprak Razgatlioglu would join the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK squad for the 2024 season, many questions surrounded Scott Redding and Michael van der Mark. Both riders are WorldSBK race winners and both riders will be staying in the BMW fold in WorldSBK.
Scott Redding is remaining with BMW as he will ride for the Bonovo Action BMW team next year and will partner Garrett Gerloff. The British and American partnership could work well in 2024 for the Bonovo squad.
In the factory WorldSBK squad Razgatlioglu arrives and Michael van der Mark remains. The Dutch rider has suffered with injuries throughout the last two seasons, but has kept his ride with BMW for next season.
The current BMW WorldSBK rider who has lost out for 2024 is Loris Baz. The French rider has been let go by BMW from the Bonovo Action BMW squad.
Dr. Markus Schramm, Director of BMW Motorrad, stated his excitement ahead of the 2024 season: “Four great BMW Motorrad factory riders in our two strong BMW teams – with this new allocation, we are set up superbly for the WorldSBK season 2024.
“Scott Redding is a great racer and we appreciate that he is staying true to our BMW Motorrad World Superbike project by bringing his skills to bear in the Bonovo Action BMW team. His experience, speed and expertise in particular, will be a key component as we optimise our collective goals together with Garrett Gerloff and the whole team.
“The addition of Toprak Razgatlioglu allows us to distribute our factory riders perfectly across our two competitive teams. Together with Michael van der Mark in the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, we have the ideal line-up for the overall project.”
