Tommy Bridewell takes his second victory of the season at Cadwell Park with Ryan Vickers recovering 14 places
For race two of round eight MasterMac Honda’s Lee Jackson was on pole position at his home circuit, joining Lee on the front row of the grid was Tommy Bridewell and Kyle Ryde. Honda’s Andrew Irwin and TAG Racing’s Fraser Rogers were declared unfit to compete in any further racing action at Cadwell Park.
Jackson got the holeshot into Coppice, Bridewell and Ryde followed suit. Bridewell passed Jackson into Park to take the lead. Glenn Irwin was up to fourth with Jason O’Halloran in fifth.
Ryan Vickers who started from 20th passed Danny Kent at the Mountain to move into 13th position. Josh Brookes who had a good launch off the line was struggling and was down in 11th.
It was front quartet with Bridewell in the lead with Irwin at the rear. Ryde block passed Jackson into Park corner to move into second place.
Charlie Nesbitt who had been stuck behind O’Halloran at the start of the race was closing in the front four and set the fastest lap of the race, just under a tenth off the lap record.
Danny Kent crashed out of 14th at Park on lap five after being forced off track by Peter Hickman who himself didn’t make the corner.
Ryde was applying a lot of pressure on championship leader Bridewell, Irwin made a mistake on the exit of the chicane and that allowed Nesbitt to move into fourth place.
At start of the second half of the race local rider Jackson did a fantastic move at Charlie’s one on Ryde and the OMG Yamaha rider was unable to respond.
On lap eight Vickers had got himself into eighth place and the best he could hope for was sixth which he took at Coppice.
Ryde block passed Jackson into Park like he did previously in the race, but the R1 Yamaha was looking a bit squirrely.
Ryde was looking everywhere to find a way passed the Honda of Bridewell but the number one was too strong on the brakes, Ryde ran a bit hot into the Mountain and he couldn’t recover enough ground to attack into the Hairpin.
Tommy Bridewell took his second victory of the season ahead of Kyle Ryde who just held off Lee Jackson for second place.
Nesbitt finished in fourth with Irwin in fifth, Ryan Vickers finished in sixth and will start on the front row for Race Three. Josh Brookes recovered to seventh with Leon Haslam in eighth Christian Iddon in ninth with the injured Jason O’Halloran in tenth.
