BSB: Kyle Ryde Wins his Second Race of the Weekend at Oulton Park

OMG Racing’s Kyle Ryde wins his second race in very tricky conditions, lighting up his championship hopes
For the final installment of racing action at Oulton Park, Glenn Irwin was on pole position, joining Glenn on the front row of the grid was Danny Kent and Andrew Irwin. The conditions were still sketchy and tyre choice for the Superbike riders was crucial.
Ryan Vickers lead the field into Old Hall Bend, Billy McConnell crashed out at turn one with Lewis Rollo running off track tacking avoiding action. Storm Stacey was in fourth place just ahead of Tommy Bridewell.
Storm was on a charge and was in second place, Haslam was in third place. Jason O’Halloran crashed out at Knickerbrook.
Bridewell had a slick rear tyre on his Honda Fireblade, spots of rain were in the air after three laps. The race leader Vickers crashed out at Lodge! Storm was now leading the race. Josh Brookes was in third place after starting the race from P17.
On lap five Brookes got into second place, Haslam was in third but the BMW rider was coming under pressure from Bridewell. The rain flags were out at Druids, such sketchy conditions for all the riders!
Brookes crashed out of second place as the rain started to fall in all sectors of the Cheshire circuit. Kyle Ryde who started from19th place on the grid and was now in fourth place.
Richard Kerr was having a fantastic ride in sixth place, Lewis Rollo crashed out on lap eight. Stacey had a 15 second lead out at the front. The race was Red Flagged due to the conditions.
The race was restarted over five laps, another tough tyre choice to be made again!
Storm Stacey got the holeshot into turn one, Bridewell was in second place, Haslam was in third place after one lap. Ryde passed his championship rival Bridewell to take second place. Ryde then went on to pass Storm at turn one.
Bridewell passed Storm for second place, Ryde was breaking away at the front. The OMG rider crossed the line to take his second victory of the weekend, Bridewell was second with Storm finishing on the podium in third place, Max Cook was fourth, Dany Kent finished in fifth place.
Tommy Bridewell leads the championship standings by just six points from Kyle, it’s all to play for as the championship heads to Donington Park next.
