BSB: Hopeful McAMS Racing Ready for Donington Park Attack

By Dawn Hammersley
McAMS Racing are looking forward to a positive round two at the Midlands circuit.
Following a poignant conclusion to the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike season opener at Oulton Park, McAMS Racing and Danny Kent are gearing up to return to the track at Donington Park this weekend, as the entire domestic paddock comes together to race in tribute to Owen Jenner and Shane Richardson.
The McAMS-backed and Mar-Train-owned team came away from the season opener with a best result of sixth in Race 2 on Sunday and sit seventh in the championship with 16 points on the board.
After a challenging weekend that didn’t quite reach prior expectations, Kent and the squad are hungry to improve and climb their way up the rankings at a circuit that has previously provided them with encouraging results.
The Leicestershire-based venue has been a favourable circuit for Kent since he set foot in the Bennetts BSB class back in 2021. His proven pedigree around Donington Park, combined with Yamaha’s known prowess around fast and flowing circuits, bodes well for the upcoming weekend.
Kent maintained position in the top 5 throughout both visits to the track in 2024, also securing a coup of podium finishes and narrowly missing out on a debut victory in the final race of the championship’s second outing to the venue last year.
A trio of races lie in the pipeline for Kent and the team this weekend, with a nail-biting Sprint Race sandwiched between two 20-lap stints.
The second stop on the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship calendar kicks off with Free Practice 1 at 13:00 this Friday, with the weekend reverting to the usual Friday-Sunday format.
As a collective, the team are eager to get stuck into another weekend on-track, and hungry to deliver results more reflective of their potential. The team look ahead with the ambition of fighting for the podium positions and challenging for a second Bennetts BSB race victory.
Danny Kent
McAMS Racing, Rider
“Firstly, I’d like to extend my deepest condolences to all those affected by the events at Oulton Park. My thoughts are with the rider’s loved ones and everyone impacted by the loss.
“I’m really looking forward to getting to Donington Park for Round 2. It’s one of my favourite tracks, and the Yamaha has historically performed well there. I’m excited to get to work with the team during practice and put in the effort to make sure we’re in the best possible shape for the three races in store.”
Tim Martin
McAMS Racing, Team Owner
“First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the riders affected by the tragic events at Oulton Park, and I’d also like to wish a speedy recovery to those recovering from injuries.
“The team and I are really looking forward to getting back to Donington Park this weekend. We had a productive pre-season test there before the season began and made some encouraging progress. We’re also excited to have our friends from Cork Truck Services and H&J Martin joining us for the weekend, and we’ll be giving it our all to give them something to cheer about. With this being the final round before the Isle of Man TT break, we’re more motivated than ever to deliver strong results and boost our position in the standings.”
