
WSBK: Nicolo Bulega Sprints to Victory in a rain affected Superpole Race

Bulega had to fight through the field to take his second victory of the weekend
Nicolo Bulega was on pole position for the first Superpole Race of 2026, Yamaha’s Xavi Vierge had a technical issue and was unable to start the race.
Yari Montella was first into turn one, Bulega dropped down to fourth place. The Lowes twins were in second and third place.
Nicolo was putting Sam Lowes under pressure for the third place spot, Sam was giving up on the podium position. Britain’s Tarran Mackenzie was in ninth place.
With eight laps to go the front group consisted of six riders, from Montella to Garrett Gerloff. Bulega was now into second place, Alex Lowes in third place, Sam dropped a few places running in fifth place.
Bulega made his move to lead the race, it was a late move but the Italian made it stick. White flags came out with six laps to go! Rain was falling on the Australian circuit.
Axel Bassani was in second place, Alex Lowes was in third place, the fight for fourth place was getting feisty!
Bulega crossed the finish line to take his second victory of the weekend, Bassani was second, Alex Lowes was third, Montella was fourth with Sam finishing in fifth place.
