MotoGP: Viñales Breaks Lap Record for Pole

By Admin
Yamahas dominate qualifying at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
While Q1 saw success from Pol Espargaro and Miguel Oliveira, the real action was witnessed in Q2 as Yamaha locked out the top 4 positions on tomorrow’s grid. Maverick’s steal of pole position from Franco Morbidelli had the previous lap record of 1:31.629 by Jorge Lorenzo broken by a phenomenal 1:31.411 at the chequered flag.
With both Petronas riders completing the front row, Rossi is set to head the second for tomorrow’s race in fourth position, as The Doctor levelled his best qualifying result of the season – matching that of Jerez.
With Cal Crutchlow out for the count this weekend, LCR Honda’s sole participant of tomorrow’s race is Takaaki Nakagami, who will start from 14th position.
A note of admiration goes to that of Pecco Bagnaia, the Italian returns from injury this weekend and will start from sixth after achieving a 1:32.054, just 0.643s from pole. Teammate Jack Miller starts in the middle of the second row in fifth.
MotoGP will begin at 2pm local time (GMT +2)
