F1: Lewis Hamilton Extends Mercedes Contract for 2021

By Admin
The F1 Phenomenon announces his new deal to remain with the Mercedes team for the 2021 season, after signing a one-year contract.
The deal comes after a highly anticipated wait by fans, as speculations continued to rise as to why Hamilton remained contractless into the new year. However, with both parties insisting that it was a matter of “when” and not “if”, it seems that they were simply keeping us all on our toes.
The Briton aims to continue his four-wheeled reign, while advocating a commitment to diversity and inclusion within motorsport, a continuation of what he and Mercedes began to build last year.
Lewis Hamilton – Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team
“I am excited to be heading into my ninth season with my Mercedes teammates, our team has achieved incredible things together and we look forward to building on our success even further, while continuously looking to improve, both on and off the track.
“I’m equally determined to continue the journey we started to make motorsport more diverse for future generations and I am grateful that Mercedes has been extremely supportive of my call to address this issue. I’m proud to say we are taking that effort further this year by launching a foundation dedicated to diversity and inclusion in the sport. I am inspired by all that we can build together and can’t wait to get back on the track in March.”
Hamilton will rejoin his 2020 team-mate, Valtteri Bottas, as the pair both extend their contracts for this coming season. With Bottas achieving the runner-up position last year, Mercedes look set to conquer the asphalt yet again.
