WorldSSP300: Orradre Tops Day 1 in Aragon
By Admin
Yamaha MS Racing’s Unai Orradre tops Friday, ahead of Tom Booth-Amos.
As the World Supersport 300 squad begins the 2021 season in Aragon, the 44-rider strong grid proves there is all to play for once again.
Day 1 saw Orradre take P1, ahead of Booth-Amos and defending champ Jeffrey Buis in third.
While the Yamaha rider took the top spot, it appears that two teams pose an early threat this weekend. The first being the Fusport – Rt Motorsports by SKM Kawasaki team, with the aforementioned Booth-Amos taking second, teammate Dorren Loureiro returns to the series with a solid P4, while the team’s rookie Harry Khouri takes the final Top 10 spot. The other strong team is that of MTM Kawasaki; with Buis in third, Adrian Huertas in 6th, Koen Meuffels in 9th, and Yuta Okaya in 11th – the latter taking P1 in the second Free Practice session.
The Kawakami brothers have started the weekend with mixed results, with Ton in 7th and Meikon in 24th.
Big names Ana Carrasco and Marc Garcia will be looking to improve in the Super Pole, as Carrasco currently resides in P14, and Garcia is down in 27th.
With a mix of results for the class’ big names, and some strong riders already beginning to shine through. How will the class fare on Saturday?
WorldSSP300’s SuperPole begins at 09:45 Local Time (GMT +2).
