BSB: Danny Buchan Tops The Time Sheets In The Combined Standings At Knockhill.

Danny Buchan Has Topped The First Mornings Action At Round Two Of The Bennetts British Superbikes.
Round Two of the Bennetts British Superbikes got under-way at the Scottish circuit of Knockhill. Only a 1000 spectators are allowed track side for this round and there is only three supporting classes joining the Superbike class on track this weekend.
Free Practice One got under-way under cloudy but dry conditions, FHO Racing BMW’s Xavi Forés did not take part in the session as he was declared unfit to ride by the medical staff at the Knockhill circuit, Xavi was not happy about the decision and was reported to be protesting about the decision.
The lead changed a lot throughout the session with Jason O’Halloran leading then Christian Iddon took the top spot. BMW’s Danny Buchan was the rider who finished the session in first place, with Iddon in second place and O’Halloran in third. Danny has very good form at the Scottish circuit. Both of the RICH Energy OMG BMW riders Brad Ray and Kyle Ryde crashed at the end of the session, both riders were ok and finished the session in fifth and 13th respectively.
Free Practice two was similar to the first session of the day with O’Halloran, Iddon and Buchan all at the top of the timing sheets. Oxford Products Racing Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell was having a few mechanical and set-up issues. Rapid CDH Racing Kawasaki’s Josh Owens had a crash early in the session and had to be taken to the medical centre for a check up. Local rookie Rory Skinner got up-to fifth place with five minutes to go. Josh Brookes was hovering just outside the top ten for most of the session.
It was Danny Buchan who topped the session followed by O’Halloran, Scottish Rider Rory Skinner finished in third, Suzuki’s Danny Kent was looking sharp and finished in fourth place, Iddon was in fifth place. Tommy Bridewell just made it into the top 12 finishing in 11th place just in front of Kawasaki’s Ryan Vickers. Shock result of the sessions was reigning champion Josh Brookes who finished down in 13th place and will have to go through Q1, BMW’s Kyle Ryde finished down in 15th place and will also have to go through Q1 to fight for a spot in Q2.

Qualifying One takes place this afternoon at 14:15
