As the Free Practice Two session got under-way it was VisionTrack Ducati’s Christian Iddon who put the fastest lap in and moved up-to fourth place in the combined standings. Kawasaki’s Ryan Vickers stormed into third place, just behind Honda’s Glenn Irwin.
Jason O’Halloran crashed out at Coppice Corner 11 minutes into the session, would Jason be able to get back out or was his Free Practice Session over? Team-mate Tarran Mackenzie was in eighth place. Tommy Bridewell moved up to seventh place 15 minutes into the session.
SYNETIQ BMW’s Andrew Irwin was down in 18th place at the half-way mark, team-mate Danny Buchan was in ninth place. RICH Energy OMG BMW’s Brad Ray was in 11th place, team-mate Kyle Ryde was down in 17th place.
With five minutes to go Iddon climbed into second place, O’Halloran was still in the pits and still in first place, Ryan put another flyer in taking second place from Iddon. FS-3 Racing’s Skinner moved up-to fourth place. With two minutes to go FHO Racing BMW’s Peter Hickman put an astonishing lap in to claim first place. With just under two minutes to go the session was red flagged, due to Honda’s Takumi Takahashi machinery leaving contamination on the track.
Peter Hickman finished in first place, with O’Halloran in second, Ryan Vickers in third, Iddon in fourth, Josh Brookes in fifth. McAMS Yamaha’s Tarran will have to go through Q1, he just missed out on a Q2 place by 0.001s! Both Rich Energy BMW riders Brad Ray and Kyle Ryde will also have to go through Q1.

Can Peter Hickman convert his first place in the combined standings into a pole position tomorrow in qualifying?
