Mercedes locks out the top two in the opening practice session of the weekend.
It is indeed only the first practice session, but its no surprise that Valtteri Bottas clocked the fastest time already, ahead of Lewis Hamilton. The Finn carries his strong form after a commendable weekend in Monza. Meanwhile, Hamilton is looking to regain his form after his Monza collision with third-placed Verstappen cut both their races short.
Charles Leclerc ended the session 4th ahead of former teammate Sebastian Vettel, while Pierre Gasly posted yet another 6th place laptime, being one of the most consistent drivers all season. Carlos Sainz finished 7th, also ahead of a former teammate Lando Norris, while Sergio Perez and Fernando Alonso rounded off the top 10.
