SSP: Mar-Train Racing’s Jack Kennedy Does The Double At The Bennetts British Superbike Season Opener.
By Dawn Hammersley
Jack Kennedy has stormed to victory during the opening round of the Quattro British Supersport Championship this weekend as he took the win in both races at Silverstone.
The reigning Supersport Champion kicked off the first race on Saturday in perfect conditions and style after beating Ashcourts Lee Johnston by more than 7 seconds.
The second race saw a battle between the Dubliner and Appleyard Macadam Yamaha rival Bradley Perie, who was leading the race before he tucked the front crashing out on the final lap.
Scoring maximum points and podium credits, Kennedy took control with a clear run to the line and clinched the double by 12.418 seconds which leaves him top of the Quattro British Supersport Championship class.

Amazing to come away from here with two wins. This is a track that can throw up strange results and anything can happen here. I feel really lucky to be coming away with two maximum point score finishes, 50 points in the bag is amazing.
I got a lucky neutral in the last lap, which never happens – that saved me from being taken out. I need to count my lucky ducks and move on to the next race and like I said, I am amazed and feel so lucky and really happy.
A massive thank you to Mar-Train Yahama who have given me an amazing bike all weekend and the boys haven’t missed a beat, huge credit to them for giving me the tools needed to do the job. I can’t wait to get to Oulton Park for the test next week as I’m really enjoying riding this R6.

A successful Silverstone for us. Pole position for the first race, and two wins. That’s Jacks 50th pole and 51st win in his career. This is our second time doing a pole and two wins as a team.
I am really over the moon, a great start to the season and great to build on – let’s get to the next round to see what we can do there.
Round two for the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship is at Cheshire’s Oulton Park on 30th April to 2nd of May.
