WSBK: Alvaro Bautista Wins Race One in Argentina as Toprak Crashes Out.

Alvaro Bautista Wins his Thirteenth Race of the Season, as his Main Rival Toprak Crashed Out on the First Lap.
The World Superbike Championship are at San Juan Villicum for round ten of the championship. As we go into this round Aruba.it Ducati rider Alvaro Bautista is currently leading the championship standings by 56 points from Yamaha’s reigning WSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Toprak was on pole position for the third time this season, Kawasaki’s Jonathan Rea was in second place on the grid, with championship leader Alvaro Bautista rounding out the front row of the grid in third place for race one.
Toprak lead the field of WSBK riders into turn one, Honda’s Lecuona got into third place demoting Bautista to fourth place. Bautista passed three riders and was into first place. Toprak tried to make the pass for first place and crashed out at turn nine. Rea was now leading at the front with Bautista in fourth place.
With 20 laps to go Axel Bassani was on the move and passed Rea for first place, Rea was in second place, Lecona was back in third place, Bautista was in fourth place with his team-mate Michael Ruben Rinaldi in fifth place.
Alvaro passed Lecuona for third down the back straight, the Ducati had great pace in that part of the Argentian circuit. Bassani was coming under pressure from Rea with 17 laps to go, Rea was desperate for a victory, the Kawasaki rider has now gone six rounds without a win.
Alvaro passed Rea on the straight to take second place and was catching Bassani with 15 laps remaining to the race. The leading trio made a break from the rest of the field, Toprak remounted and was in 21st place. Alvaro got into first place and started to make a slight break at the front.
Rea made an aggressive move on Bassani for third at turn 12 but he ran wide at turn seven a lap later handing the second place back to Bassani. Rea was all over the back wheel of the Italian rider, the pair were having a great battle, but it was enabling Alvaro to get a three second lead at the front.
With eight laps to go the field was spread out, Andrea Locatelli was in ninth place, BMW’s Scott Redding was in seventh place just behind Kawasaki’s Alex Lowes.
Rea made a move on Axel at turn one on lap 19 and Rea made the move stick and held on to the second place, Bautista was riding the perfect race at the front, the Spaniard was untouchable! Toprak was in 16th place just outside the points.
Alvaro crossed the finish line to take his 13th victory of the 2022 season, Rea held on to second place, Bassani was third, Lecuona was fourth with Rinaldi finishing in fifth place. Toprak finished in 15th place, collecting just one championship point.
Alvaro now has an 80-point lead from Toprak, the Spaniard now has one hand on the title trophy!
