BSB: The Bennetts British Superbike Championship Heads North for Round Four of the British Championship.
By Dawn Hammersley
Will we see a new race winner of the 2023 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at the Fife circuit of Knockhill?
After a four week break the Bennetts British Superbike Championship is at the scenic circuit of Knockhill for round four of the championship. To date the series has had five different race winners, with BeerMonster Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell leading the championship standings as we go into round four.
What can we expect from the unique Scottish circuit with it’s nine sweeping corners, sharp Hairpin and fast crest of a start finish straight? Jason O’Halloran, Christian Iddon and Danny Buchan all have race victories at the circuit, but it’s fair to say all-three riders haven’t had the start to the season they would of hoped for.
FHO Racing’s Josh Brookes is yet to claim a win at the circuit, could we see him add another race winning circuit to his CV. Josh has really jelled with the BMW and the FHO Racing Team for the 2023 season, with two victories under his belt so far. The Australian has just competed at the Isle Of Man TT; getting a podium finish in the Supertwin Class.
Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell has only ever managed a third place at the circuit, the championship leader will surely be aiming to better a third placed podium finish and leave the Scottish border at the top of the championship standings once again. Team-mate Glenn Irwin’s best placed finish is a fourth place, he too will be striving to get his first victory at Knockhill this weekend.
OMG Racing’s Kyle Ryde dominated the previous round at Donington Park; taking two victories. The Nottinghamshire rider has only managed a sixth place finish to date. Can the Yamaha rider continue his domination and edge closer to lead the championship standings.
BMW’s BSB veteran Leon Haslam has had three victories at the circuit, his last win came in 2018. Leon has had a really bright start to proceedings finishing four times on the podium, with a best placed finish of second at Oulton Park. The Pocket Rocket is definitely one to watch this weekend as he will be after his fourth victory for sure.

Knockhill is known for its fast close racing, we have three enthralling races to look forward to! Who will be crowned King of the Hill and who will leave the Scottish border with the Bennetts British Superbike Championship lead?
