Toprak Razgatlioglu will start from pole position for the second round of the 2024 World Superbike season at Catalunya.

For only the second time this season the World Superbike riders threw caution to the wind to get the best qualifying lap possible.

It was the 2021 World Superbike Champion who came out on top in the Superpole session in Catalunya as Toprak Razgatlioglu claimed his first pole position of his BMW career. The Turkish rider obliterated the field and the old lap record to set a stunning one lap pace around Barcelona.

Joining the BMW rider on the front row will be two Ducati riders. However, neither of these are the reigning WorldSBK Champion. Instead it is two of the stand out riders from Phillip Island with WorldSBK rookies Nicolo Bulega and Andrea Iannone occupying the final two places on the front row.

Michael van der Mark towed his team-mate around the circuit for his pole lap but the Dutch rider could only manage fourth place on his fastest lap. Another WorldSBK rookie finds himself on the second row as Sam Lowes secured fifth place on the grid just ahead of two time World Supersport Champion Dominique Aegerter.

The Championship leader, Alex Lowes, finds himself starting from the head of the third row later today as he qualified in seventh, just ahead of the Yamaha duo of Remy Gardner and Andrea Locatelli.

Danilo Petrucci had a good session as he put his Ducati tenth on the grid for later today, with the two time WorldSBK Champion, Alvaro Bautista, out of the top ten in 11th.

The other British riders in the field did not have a great qualifying session with Scott Redding in 12th, Jonathan Rea in 13th, Bradley Ray in 21st and Tarran Mackenzie in 22nd.
