WSBK: Alvaro Bautista Gets Back to Winning Ways in Catalunya.

Alvaro Bautista wins race two ahead of his team-mate Nicole Bulega

Toprak Razgatlioglu was on pole position for the final WSBK race of the weekend in Catalunya, joining the Turkish rider on the front row of the grid was Andrea Iannone and Alvaro Bautista.

Alvaro was first into turn one, Toprak was pushed back to fourth. Axel Bassani and Michael Ruben Rinaldi collided, both riders went off track, the incident caused Andrea Locatelli to run into the gravel, putting the Yamaha rider in last place.

Nicole Bulega was is second place until Andrea took second place from the Italian rider, Toprak was in third. Bautista was slightly edging away from the rest of the field. Brad Ray and Iker Lecuona collided at turn one.

Australian rider Remy Gardner was running strong in fifth place, Bulega retook the lead from Alvaro with 16 laps to go, Toprak looked to be closing in taking second place from Alvaro. Johnathan Rea was inside the top ten running in eighth place.

The Lowes twins were dicing for ninth place, Alex just had the edge over Sam until he made a mistake at turn one and ran off track.

Back at the front of the field Bautista was catching his team-mate, he made his move at turn one with 11 laps to go, Toprak was watching the Ducati duo in front of him and was catching Bulega. Iannone was hanging on in fourth place, with BMW’s Michael Van Der Mark in fifth place.

Iannone crashed out at turn ten with seven laps to go, Gardner was still top Yamaha in fifth place. Tarran Mackenzie was just outside of the points in 16th place.

Alvaro crossed the line to take his first victory of the 2024 season, Bulega was second with Toprak finishing on the podium again but in third place, Van Der Mark was fourth with Danilo Petrucci finishing fifth place.
