
BSB: Ryan Vickers Takes the Sprint Race Victory at Brands Hatch

Ryan Vickers takes another race win as Glenn Irwin was caught up in an incident on lap one
For Race Two at Brands Hatch yesterday’s race winner Ryan Vickers was on pole position. Tommy Bridewell lined up in second place with Ducati’s Christian Iddon rounding out the front row of the grid.
Ryan Vickers got the holeshot into Paddack Hall Bend, there was a crash between Glenn Irwin, Danny Kent and Danny Buchan which brought the safety car out. Glenn had to be attended to by medical staff at the side of the track.
The safety car pulled in on lap four, Vickers lead the way until Bridewell took control of the race at Druids. Franco Bourne was in sixth place and pushing, Vickers made a move back for the lead.
Andrew Irwin was in fourth place, the Honda man was having a strong ride again. Vickers ran wide at Surtees, which enabled Bridewell and Christian Iddon to pass him, the OMG rider was now in third place. Jason O’Halloran was the fastest man on track in fifth place.
Luke Hedger had a big off at Hawthorn on lap six! Vickers made a brave move and retook first place, passing two riders in one go! The Red Flag came out due to Luke’s crash on the end of lap six.
The race was restarted over five laps, Vickers yet again was first into Paddock Hill Bend. Iddon got a poor start due to contact with Andrew Irwin and was pushed back to eighth place, Kyle Ryde was in third place and looking sharp.
Vickers was stretching a lead out front, Bridewell and Kyle were dicing for second place, Andrew Irwin was in fourth place.
Vickers crossed the finish line to take his second victory of the round, Bridewell hung on to second place, Kyle finished in a close third place, Andy Irwin was fourth with Leon Haslam finishing in fifth place.
Tommy leads the championship standings on 205 points, wishing a speedy recovery to Glenn Irwin.
