Danny Kent and McAMS Racing go into Round Eight of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship hoping to continue podium success.
This weekend, Cadwell Park hosts the eighth round of the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, with the series heading to the Lincolnshire-based venue after an ultra-competitive weekend at Thruxton. The upcoming weekend is set to provide an opportunity to learn and progress for McAMS Racing and Danny Kent, who together have limited experience around the 2.18 mile circuit within the premier class. Kent, who enjoyed a brace of podium finishes last time out at Thruxton, has only one race weekend under his belt aboard a superbike at Cadwell Park. He and the team look to the weekend with eager eyes, possessing the ambition to learn and progress throughout the three-day event between Saturday and Monday. Cadwell Park will play host to the fourth SuperPole session of the year, with the single-lap Qualifying session taking place before the opening race of the weekend of 18 laps at 17:00. As the weekend approaches, Kent sits sixth in the overall championship standings, after spending the first half of the 2024 season battling amongst the top 3. With the season progressing towards its closing stages, the focus in the camp remains on securing championship points and making up positions to the top. Coming off the back of two podium finishes last time out, the team heads into the final 4 rounds with great momentum and confidence in their ability to continue battle towards the front. |
Danny Kent: “I’m looking forward to Cadwell Park at the weekend. It’s a circuit that I have the least amount of experience around, so I’m looking forward to learning more and more as the weekend progresses. I’ve only ever raced there once in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship back in 2022, so it will be really important for us to spin as many laps as possible. It’s going to be a challenging weekend for the team and me, but we’re up for the challenge and look forward to learning as much as possible in preparation for the trio of races in store.” |
Tim MartinTeam Owner: “Cadwell Park will be a challenging weekend for us, but we’re excited for it nonetheless. It’s a track that Danny has had limited time on. We’re confident in his ability to learn fast and believe that the team will be able to work together to be in a good position for Saturday’s opening race. We have plenty of data to tap into throughout the weekend so we’ll be coming out in the best possible way. Danny will be doing his homework ahead of the weekend and we’re confident that he’ll give it his all as always. It’s a great circuit for the fans and we expect to see a huge crowd turnout. We’re also happy to be joined by several guests for the weekend, including our friends from McAMS and John Hudson Trailers.” |
