MotoGP: Jorge Martin victorious in the Tissot Sprint at Phillip Island

Jorge Martin wins the inaugural sprint race at Phillip Island with Pecco Bagnaia in fourth
Jorge Martin started from pole position at Phillip Island ahead of Marc Marquez and Maverick Vinales, Francesco Bagnaia started in fifth place.
The lights went out and Martin lead into turn one with Marc Marquez running wide and dropping to eighth. Brad Binder was aggressive on Vinales at turn four and Enea Bastianini made a move too on the Aprilia rider.
At the end of the opening lap Martin lead ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Pecco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez had passed Franky Morbidelli at the final corner to move into seventh and overtook Vinales into turn one for sixth place.
Marquez passed Bastianini on the home striaght to move into the top five and then passed Binder at turn six.
Pecco overtook Bezzecchi for second at turn one on lap four and Marquez was closing in, the gap to Martin from Pecco was one second.
Marquez moved into the podium places, turning underneath Bezzecchi at the exit of the final corner on lap five. Johann Zarco and Alex Marquez had crashed out at turn nine and turn four.
Marquez passed Bagnaia at turn four to move into second, the gap to Martin out front was 3.1 seconds. Bastianini then passed Pecco at the MG Hairpin, Pecco was on course to lose six points to Martin.
Jack Miller crashed out of his home Tissot Sprint race, the Australian was the top KTM in eighth after qualifying down in 15th.
Vinales was all over the back of Bezzecchi who was occupying fifth place with Fabio Di Giannantonio closing in on the two in-front of him.
Vinales attacked Bezzecchi into turn one, but the Spaniard ran wide and the Italian was able to retake the position. Pedro Acosta crashed out at turn six.
Vinales passed Bezzecchi on the home straight but Bezzecchi got disturbed by the dirty air from the Aprilia and smacked straight into the back of Vinales and both went down at turn one, Vinales was ok, Bezzecchi was sat up on a stretcher. Brad Binder lost the front at turn four.
Martin crossed the line to win the inaugural Tissot Sprint at Phillip Island ahead of Marquez and Bastianini, Pecco Bagnaia brought home fourth place with Di Giannantonio in fifth, but the Italian had a tyre pressure penalty so he was seventh. Franky Morbidelli was fifth with Raul Fernandez in sixth with Aleix Espargaro in eighth and Augusto Fernandez in ninth.
