An all-new lineup for the Italian factory as they launch their 2025 season campaign

2025 sees a brand-new lineup for Aprilia, Aleix Espargaro left the factory after eight seasons due to retirement from the sport, meanwhile Maverick Vinales moved to Tech 3 Red Bull KTM.

Filling in the seats of the two Spaniards are two very high calibre riders: Marco Bezzecchi and reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Martin, who will run the number one plate for the 2025 season.

Martin put together a fantastic and consistent performance in 2024 to lift the crown and become the first rider to win for a satellite team since Valentino Rossi in 2001. The Martinator took 3 Grand Prix victories and 7 Sprint victories along with 13 further Grand Prix podiums. He has switched from Ducati to Aprilia and will be looking to replicate another feat of Valentino Rossi’s: win back-to-back world titles on different manufacturers.

Marco Bezzecchi had sub-par 2024 only taking one podium at Jerez. He finished third in 2023 with some incredible performances such as his victories at the Argentinian and Indian Grand Prix’s. Bez struggled with the front-end of the Ducati GP23 and will be looking to recover from his poor performance from last season.

Martin and Bezzecchi have always been intertwined with each other during their careers. They took each other to the limit in their quest to the 2018 Moto 3 World Title which Martin ultimately won. Bezzecchi’s first Moto 2 victory came in the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix after Martin touched the green on the final lap. Then in 2023 they both fought Francesco Bagnaia for the championship with both finishing second and third with Martin on top.

Aprilia along with the other manufacturers have been working hard over the winter to claw back the gap to Ducati after the huge leap in performance of the Desmosedici GP24. Only Raul Fernandez and Lorenzo Savadori have remained with the factory from last season so it will be intriguing to see how much development Aprilia have made to help Martin retain his title.
