WSBK: Nicolo Bulega Takes a Record Breaking 28th Victory in 2026
By Dawn Hammersley
Bulega holds off his team-mate once again to win the Tissot Superpole race at Estorik
The Estoril Tissot Superpole Sprint race got underway with Iker Lecuona leading the way. Alex Lowes and Yari Montella clashed at the first corner, putting both riders way down the order.
Home rider Miguel Oliveira was in third place, Alberto Surra was fourth, just in front of Alvaro Bautista. Montella was given a Long Lap Penalty for the contact between himself and Alex.
Bulega was leading the race after Lecuona made a mistake and ran slightly off track, putting over a second gap lead between himself and his team-mate Lecuona.
British rider Jake Dixon was in eighth place, Tommy Bridewell was in 12th place, Sam Lowes was in tenth place.
Bulega once again was setting a blistering pace at the front of the race. Yamaha rider Andrea Locatelli crashed out at turn seven, such a disappointing season for the Italian rider.
On the final lap Oliveira went a bit wide at turn three and Surra took the final podium spot from the home rider.
Bulega took the victory, Lecuona was second, with a third place finish for Surra, Oliveira was fourth, Bautista finished in fifth place.
