
MotoGP: Marc Marquez Holds Off Brother Alex to Take Lights-to-Flag Tissot Sprint Victory at Termas De Rio Hondo

Marc Marquez makes it three wins out of three with Alex Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia following suit
Marc Marquez took back-to-back pole positions in 2025 and broke the 11 year old lap record at Termas De Rio Hondo, he was ahead of Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco who was able to put a Honda on the front row for the first time since Mugello 2023. Francesco Bagnaia who had been having a difficult weekend started fourth ahead of Pedro Acosta and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
The lights went out in Argentina and it was Marc and Alex who lead into turn one with Pecco Bagnaia in third place ahead of Fabio Quartararo.
Brad Binder the Tissot Sprint winner from 2023 crashed out of the race on the opening lap of the race after contact with Franky Morbidelli at turn eight.
Acosta who held fifth place on the opening lap overtook Quartararo into turn one to move into fourth. The Marquez brothers had pulled away from Pecco. Zarco had dropped down to sixth off the start but started to make progress overtaking his compatriot Quartararo into turn seven.
On lap five Fermin Aldeguer and Miguel Oliveira went down together. In sector three Zarco got through on Acosta for fourth place and he was 1.4 seconds behind Pecco.
Acosta was getting beat up losing positions to both VR46 Ducati’s and Marco Bezzecchi and it was eighth for the Red Bull KTM.
Joan Mir was having another decent weekend inside the points and overtook Acosta for eighth into turn nine with three laps to go. Acosta tried to retake the position at turn five but ran extremely wide.
Marquez held off the pressure from his brother Alex to win the Tissot Sprint in Termas De Rio Hondo as Pecco Bagnaia took another third place. Zarco finished in fourth ahead of Di Giannantonio in fifth, Bezzecchi sixth, Morbidelli seventh, Mir eight and Acosta in ninth.
