
MotoGP: Marc Marquez Takes Seventh Tissot Sprint Victory of the Season at Aragon

Marc Marquez wins the Tissot Sprint race at Aragon ahead of both Gresini Ducati’s
It was the hottest conditions of the weekend at Aragon, Marc Marquez started from pole position for his home Grand Prix after breaking the lap record. His brother Alex Marquez started in second with Pertamina Enduro’s Franky Morbidelli. Francesco Bagnaia headed the second row ahead of both Red Bull KTM’s Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder.
The lights went out and Alex Marquez and Morbidelli got a good launch into turn one ahead of Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia dropped down to eighth.
Marc passed Morbidelli into turn one on lap two. Acosta was ahead of his fellow Murcian Fermin Aldeguer in fourth.
After two attempts at passing Morbidelli, Acosta then had to defend against Aldeguer with the rookie getting the better of the KTM rider at turn 12 on lap four to move into fourth.
On lap six Marc Marquez took the lead of the race, executing a block pass on Alex Marquez and immediately pulled out a lead.
Bagnaia was struggling after making a mistake at turn seven, the three time world champion was down in 12th place.
With three laps to go Aldeguer on the medium rear tyre passed Morbidelli at turn four to move into the podium places.
Marc Marquez crossed the line to take his seventh Tissot Sprint victory of the season, Alex Marquez finished in his seventh Tissot Sprint second place and Aldeguer took third place. Morbidelli held off Acosta for fourth with Fabio Di Giannantonio in sixth, Maverick Vinales in seventh, Marco Bezzecchi from the back of the grid to eighth and Brad Binder in ninth with Pecco Bagnaia finishing in a disappointing 12th.
