It’s round seven of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, Cadwell Park is the host for this popular Bank Holiday round known as party in the park! The weather at the Lincolnshire circuit was on the cloudy side but there was no threat of rain.
Brad Ray took the Bandero Cafe Shootout – Omologato Superpole pole position, Kyle Ryde qualified in second place, with Tommy Bridewell rounding out the front row of the grid.
Lights out for the first time at Cadwell Park as Brad lead the field around turn one. Kyle Ryde was right with Ray as was Tommy Bridewell. Danny Kent and Christian Iddon were dicing for fourth place.
The leading trio were stretching away from Kent who was running in fourth place. Bridewell made a move on Kyle for second place. Kent crashed out at Mansfield, disaster for the McCAMS rider!
Glenn Irwin made up some positions running in 11th place. Ray was setting the pace at the front of the field, putting in the fastest lap times. Charlie Nesbitt and Storm Stacey were having a good battle for fifth place.
By lap seven Ray was stretching out the leading trio, Ryde was just losing touch with Bridewell. Nesbitt was chasing down Iddon in fourth place, bringing Honda’s Andrew Irwin with him. Storm lost a few positions, the Staffordshire rider was in seventh place.
Bridewell crashed out on lap nine at the exit of the Chicane! Ryde was now in second place, Iddon was in third place. There was a three-way battle for the final podium spot between Iddon, Nesbitt and Andy Irwin.
Billy McConnell was having a solid ride in eighth place, running in front of Scott Redding. Nesbitt crashed out at Charlies on lap 13.
The third place hunt was now between Iddon and Andrew Irwin. Irwin was trying his best to pass Iddon but Christian was not letting go of the podium place. Ryde was reeling Ray in with two laps to go, the Nitrous Competitions rider was right with the Raceways rider!
Ryde made an ambitious move to try and pass Brad, they almost touched! Brad just about held on to cross the line for the victory, Ryde was a very close second, Irwin got the better of Iddon for third place, Storm finished in fifth place.
