BSB: Tommy Bridewell takes his first victory of the 2025 season
By Dawn Hammersley
Bridewell holds off Kyle Ryde and Andrew Irwin to take the race two victory at Cadwell Park
Race one at Cadwell Park certainly delivered a race full of excitement, will we get another adrenaline packed race for race two? Bradley Ray was on pole position, Honda’s Tommy Bridewell lined up in second place, with Kyle Ryde rounding out the front row of the grid.
Ray shot off the line to get the holeshot into turn one at the Louth circuit. Andy Irwin was in second place, team-mate Bridewell was in third place.
Gabriele Giannini, Jaimie Van Sikkelerus and Davey Todd crashed out at the chicane, as did Richard Kerr at Charlie’s two. Ray crashed at the Goose Neck as he was leading the race! The championship leader was up and ok.
Bridewell was now leading from Andy Irwin, Ryde was third with Christian Iddon in fourth place. The safety car was brought out with a few riders crashing out.
The safety car went in, Bridewell was leading the way, Storm Stacey went into fourth place. The field was pretty much bunched up with seven laps to go.
The leading trio were breaking away from fourth placed Stacey, Leon Haslam was right behind Storm.
There was nothing between the top three riders, Tommy was controlling the race. Irwin just wasn’t quite close enough to make a move on his team-mate. Kyle made a swift move to snatch second place from Irwin.
Bridewell crossed the line to take his first victory of the 2025 season, Ryde was second overtaking Andy Irwin at the Haiprin, Haslam won the battle for fourth place, Max Cook finished in fifth place.
