
Moto3: Jose Antonio Rueda Wins the Moto3 Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino

Rueda extends his championship lead after a last lap six-way battle for the Moto3 San Marino victory
Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider Valentin Perrone was on pole position for the second time in the 2025 season, joining Perrone on the front row of the grid was Australian riders Joel Kelso and Jacob Roulstone. Young British rider Evan Belford was making his Moto3 debut riding for Mlav Racing.
Lights out at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Kelso lead the field into turn one, David Munoz joined the leaders after two corners.
Poleman Perrone was in second place until Munoz made a move for second place. Perrone retook the position a lap later, Kelso was still setting the pace at the front of the Moto3 field.
After three laps the leading four riders stretched away from the rest of the field, from Kelso to Jose Antonio Rueda.
Munoz and Perrone touched as they turned into turn four, both ran slightly off track, Munoz was now in 19th place, Perrone was running in fifth place.
At the front Kelso was leading from Rueda, the leading duo had a slight gap to third placed Max Quiles.
Rueda took the lead on lap nine, Evan Belford crashed out at turn 14, the young Brit was having a solid ride for his first Moto3 Grand Prix.
Perrone made his way into third place, things were hotting up in the leading group! Quiles made a feisty move on Valentin for third place. The leading group now consisted of six riders with six laps to go. Adrian Fernandez caught the leading group up running in sixth place.
Luca Lunetta crashed out in sector three with four laps to go. Rueda was leading from Perrone, Kelso was in third place followed by Quiles. The battle for the victory was on!
The last lap was upon us, Quiles was leading from Rueda. Fernandez joined the leaders in fourth place, Kelso was in fifth place. Perrone made a mistake putting himself out of contention.
Rueda crossed the line to take the victory, Quiles was second, Fernanadez took third place, Kelso was fourth, with Angel Piqueras finishing in fifth place and Perrone in sixth.
