Marc Marquez avenges his 2025 DNF at San Marino to win at Misano ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin

Marco Bezzecchi started from pole position for the Tissot Sprint after being the first rider in the 1:29s at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Marc Marquez lined up in second with Fermin Aldeguer in third. Fabio Di Giannantonio was fourth with championship leader Jorge Martin in fifth.

The lights went out and Marc Marquez lead into turn one ahead of Bezzecchi, Di Giannantonio and Martin. Pedro Acosta was up to fifth.

On lap three Aldeguer and Acosta started rubbing shoulders and the two Murcian’s ran each other wide at turn three which allowed Alex Marquez through.

Acosta and Aldeguer continued to battle until turn ten when Raul Fernandez tried to sneak up the inside of Aldeguer and the pair made contact and Aldeguer lost the place to Fernandez.

After sitting behind the VR46 Ducati all race long, Martin went up the inside of Di Giannantonio at turn six and held off the Italian into turn eight to hold third place. Alex Marquez was now on the back of Di Giannantonio.

On lap eight Bezzecchi closed the gap to Marquez from one second to seven tenths and Martin was pulling away from Di Giannantonio.

On lap 11 Marquez set the fastest lap of the race under Pecco Bagnaia’s record from 2024 as he pulled the gap over the Bez back to one second.

Marc Marquez crossed the line to win the Tissot Sprint at Misano, Bezzecchi was second which is his best sprint result of the season with Martin rounding out the podium.

Di Giannantonio was fourth ahead of Alex Marquez in fifth, Acosta in sixth, Fernandez in seventh, Aldeguer eighth and Luca Marini taking the last points paying position in ninth.
