AndaluciaGP: Marco Bezzecchi snatches maiden Moto2 pole

SKY Racing Team VR46 rider Marco Bezzecchi has taken pole position after a stunning qualifying performance. The former Moto3 runner-up set a blistering 1’41.728 to end just +0.037s clear of EG 0,0 Marc VDS’ Sam Lowes and Enea Bastianini, who came through from Q1.
Jorge Navarro heads row two ahead of Spanish GP race winner, Luca Marini whilst Jorge Martin rounded out the second row.
Rookie Aron Canet put his Openbank Aspar Team Moto2 Speed UP machine in seventh ahead of Nicolo Bulega and Tom Luthi.
Marcel Schrotter rounds out the top ten, +0.447s off the top time, with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Xavi Vierge within a tenth of the German’s time.
Edgar Pons finished 13th ahead of Remy Gardner and Tetsuta Nagashima, who suffered a small crash in FP3 which put the Japanese rider on a stretcher.
Lorenzo Baldassarri was in a lowly 16th position whilst Simone Corsi and Marcos Ramirez rounding out the top 18.
Stefano Manzi, Somkiat Chantra and Jake Dixon missed out on a Q2 position and will form the seventh row while Hafizh Syahrin and Augusto Fernandez qualified in a disappointing 22nd and 23rd positions.
Jesko Raffin completed the grid with a time of a 1:43.688.
Round three of the Moto2 World Championship commences at 12:20pm local time where Luca Marini will be looking to make it two in a row.
