BSB: Markus Reiterberger to Join Global Robots BMW for Donington BSB Round
By Dawn Hammersley
The German rider Markus Reiterberger, who was the last European Superstock 1000 Champion in 2018 and former team-mate of BMW’s Tom Sykes will be joining Peter Hickman as part of the Global Robots BMW team, filling in for the injured Alex Olsen.
Reiterberger has won the IDM Superbike Championship in Germany twice before in 2013 and 2015. He is no stranger to Donington Park as he won there in 2018 on a BMW for the alpha Racing-Van Zom BMW team. The 26-year-old said, ” The level in BSB is really high, no traction control and wheelie control will be a new thing for me”.
Last year Peter Hickman replaced Reiterberger at Donington Park in World Superbikes due to him being injured. The Global Robots BMW Team are looking forward to having Markus on board as he has a good knowledge with the S1000RR BMW.
Injured rider Alex is now at home recovering and I’m sure will be cheering the BMW Team on for the last two rounds of the Championship.
Will the German rider be able to stir things up with the BSB front runners at Donington Park next weekend?
