BSB: Andy Irwin and Honda Racing Part Ways

By Short Shift News
After two seasons together, Honda Racing have announced that Andrew Irwin will not continue with the Louth-based squad.
Irwin joined the BSB scene after a tough stint on the world stage, replacing Shakey Bryne when the BSB giant was ruled out after his career-ending accident in Snetterton.
The younger Irwin brother joined Honda in 2019 and, after a strong season, remained with the team for 2020.
Honda Introduced its new Fireblade for 2020 and Irwin (A) took it to two victories in its first three races. The 2019 Thruxton winner then added a further win at Donington Park GP and finished the season sixth overall.
Irwin isn’t the first rider announcing a split with their team. Danny Buchan and FS-3 Kawasaki confirmed that they would part ways in 2021, with seemingly more riders than bikes – could we see a surprise rider miss out on a Superbike seat in 2021?
