By Dawn Hammersley
Spanish rider Xavi Forés will be joining Peter Hickman in the new-for-2021 FHO Racing Team, with Alex Olsen riding in the 1000 Superstock Class.
Macau entrepreneur Faye Ho joins the BSB paddock with a three-rider line up supported by BMW Motorrad. The new team will be picking up where the Smiths Racing Team left off, using the Smith’s experienced technicians and equipment.
Lincolnshire rider Peter Hickman will also be representing the FHO Racing Team on the road circuits. The 33-year-old has superb form on the road circuits and holds the lap record for The Isle Of Man TT, with a lap of 16:42.778. Hickman has five TT wins under his belt so far; since starting his road racing career back in 2014.
Former World Superbike rider Xavi Forés will be joining the BSB paddock for a second time, its the Spanish rider’s first time riding a BMW. He had four podium finishes in his debut season in 2019, just missing out on a place in the showdown. Xavi feels excited and motivated to be joining the FHO Racing Team and believes the team has the tools to fight at the front and be in with a shot of the championship.
Alex Olson will be returning to the 1000 Superstock class with the new FHO Racing Team; the 28 year old will be riding the new M 1000 RR. The Kent rider believes he has the right package to fight for the title in 2021, Alex had an unlucky 2020 season after being out of action for most of the season due to being injured during qualifying at Silverstone.
FHO Racing Team manager Darren Jones previously with Smiths Racing Team is eager to be building a new team, using all the essential foundations of the Smith’s set up. Team owner Faye Ho previously sponsored Smiths Racing Team and is now excited to be getting the opportunity to be more involved as a Team owner.
