Garrett Gerloff will replace Valentino Rossi for the opening day of action for the European Grand Prix.
Valentino Rossi will be replaced by GRT World Superbike rider Garrett Gerloff on the opening day of the European Grand Prix.
Rossi, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday 5th October, also tested positive earlier this week, however, a second PCR test, taken on Thursday 6th November, returned negative, meaning the 41-year-old could travel to the circuit.
The Doctor underwent a further PCR test on Friday 6th November, if that returns negative we will see the number 46 back on the YZR-M1 on Saturday for the third free practice session of the weekend.
In the meantime, American Garrett Gerloff will step in to replace Rossi at a cold, wet Valencia circuit.
MotoGP free practice gets underway at 10:55 local time.
