MotoGP: SKY VR46 Avintia Team set for Instagram launch

By Short Shift News
Valentino Rossi’s SKY VR46 Avintia Team will launch their Desmosedici tonight in which Luca Marini will ride in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship.
The SKY VR46 Avintia Team will officially launch their MotoGP project this evening (5pm GMT) as Luca Marini pulls the covers off his Desmosedici Ducati machine on Instagram.
The launch of the team is a historic moment in MotoGP history as Valentino Rossi officially expands his VR46 Team into the premier class. The Italian is still racing in MotoGP, of course, having signed for the Petronas Yamaha SRT team alongside Franco Morbidelli.
Marini has already showcased his new steed along with his fellow SKY VR46 riders in the Moto2 class.

Rossi’s team has a vast history, debuting in Moto3 back in 2014 before expanding to Moto2 in 2017. The team have picked up 25 race wins along with 36 further podium finishes. The team also claimed a single riders’ title, with Francesco Bagnaia claiming the 2018 Moto2 crown under the 41-year-olds team.
For 2021, Luca Marini will be the sole VR46 MotoGP rider while Celestino Vietti steps up to Moto2 partnering Marco Bezzecchi. The biggest change comes in the Moto3 class, with VR46 officially pulling out of the junior series.
