Moto 2: Sam Lowes Takes Second Consecutive Pole Position

By Jack Hammersley
Sam Lowes will start from pole position for the second time in a row at the Losail International Circuit for the Doha Grand Prix
Remy Gardner will line-up alongside Sam in second place on the grid, looking to try to get in-front of Sam to prevent him from escaping the pack like he did in last weeks race. Remy had to start on the second row last week, will a jump in row be what he needs?
Marco Bezzecchi will start from third place on the front-row, one place better from last week. Marco got the holeshot from fourth place last week, but didn’t have the pace to stay with Sam. Marco will be looking to repeat the same start but have the pace to stay at the front. Will the Italian be able to do it?
Raul Fernandez continues his impressive form, starting tomorrows race in fourth place; the Spaniard has shown great pace all weekend, can the rookie take his maiden Moto 2 podium tomorrow?
Jake Dixon ended Friday in 18th and struggled to find the same feeling he had in round one, but the Petronas Sprinta Racing rider was able to find form and just managed to get through to Q2, but then put a lap good enough to get onto the middle of the second-row in fifth position. Jake is still having problems with his wrist, can he overcome the pain barrier to achieve his first top five finish of the season?
Ai Ogura has taken a very impressive sixth place on the grid in only his second round onboard the Moto 2 bikes. Last weekend, Ai was 19th on the grid last week and was able to finish in 17th, can Ai bring his qualifying performance to the race tomorrow?
Fabio Di Giannantonio will start from seventh place on the grid. Fabio had a very emotional podium in the Qatar Grand Prix and will be looking to step back on the podium in the Doha Grand Prix, can the Italian replicate his form tomorrow?
Xavi Vierge narrowly missed out on a Q2 spot on Friday and in Q1, meaning the Spaniard will have to start from 19th position, and will have to fight his way through the field to get inside the top ten, can the Spaniard do it?
American Racing’s Cameron Beaubier has made a step with the Moto 2 bike, qualifying eight places higher compared to last week, and showed last week to have good race pace, so the American will be looking to take his first top ten finish in Moto 2, can the American do it?
Round 2 of the Moto 2 World Championship at the Doha Grand Prix will take place at 18:20 (GMT+3)
