Jason O’Halloran Topped The Time Sheets On The First Day Of Proceedings At Brands Hatch During Free Practice One.
Round Three of the Bennetts British Superbikes is upon us already! The Superbike and supporting classes are in action at the iconic Kent circuit of Brands Hatch. The weather was perfect for the Free Practice One session.
Free Practice one got under-way with McAMS Yamaha’s Tarran Mackenzie leading the way, Honda’s Ryo Mizuno crashed out at Sheene Curve. Powerslide/Catfoss Suzuki’s Bjorn Estment had to retire from proceedings after just one lap with technical issues. VisionTrack Ducati’s Josh Brookes was on the pace getting inside the top ten early on. It appears the reigning champion has been carrying an injuring, which would explain his struggling form.
Oxford Product’s Tommy Bridewell made it up-to second place at the half way stage of the session with Jason O’Halloran in third place. FS-3 Racing Kawasaki’s Lee Jackson was having a strong first session in fourth place. Championship leader Christian Iddon was in fifth place after completing nine laps.
With ten minutes to go Danny Buchan topped the time sheets with just 0.098s between the Essex rider and Mackenzie. Jason O’Halloran took the top spot with just two minutes to go, his team-mate Tarran crashed at WestField whilst in third place! At the chequered flag it was Jason O’Halloran who kept hold of the top spot, with Buchan in second, Mackenzie kept held on to third place despite crashing, TAG Honda’s Dan linfoot finished the session in ninth place just in front of BMW’s Kyle Ryde who rounded off the top ten.
