Jonathan Rea Takes The First World Superbike Pole Position At The Autodrom Most In The Czech Republic.
The World Superbike Championship are racing in their maiden round at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. The circuit was built in 1983. This will unchartered territory for the World Superbike riders.
Scott Redding was straight out of the pits looking to secure a maiden Pole Position of the 2021 season. Redding was knocked off the top spot by Jonathan Rea early on in the Superpole Session. Toprak Razgatlioglu was in the hunt for Pole Position, leading the way, with Rea in second place.
It was all to play for in the final minute of the session. GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team’s Garrett Gerloff could only get his Yamaha machinery into fifth place, Rea responded to the pressure from Toprak and put a blistering lap in to take his sixth Pole Position of the 2021 season. Redding was pushing his tyre all the way to the finish line, but he just missed out, the British rider was furious with himself for missing out on yet another opportunity to start a race in first place on the grid. Redding will line-up in third place for race one, Toprack finished in second place.
