
BSB: Championship Leader Tarran Mackenzie Ends Day One Of the Penultimate Round In The Top Spot.

Tarran Mackenzie Tops The Time Sheet In The Free Practice Two Session At Donington Park.
The Free Practice Two session was under dry but windy conditions, Peter Hickman topped the session early on followed by Josh Brookes in second place, team-mate Christian Iddon was in third place.
Ten minutes into the session BMW’s Bradley Ray was in first place, Free Practice One session first place man Danny Buchan was in seventh place, Tommy Bridewell was down in 13th place. Showdown contender Honda’s Glenn Irwin was down the order in 14th place.
With 23 minutes to go McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran got up-to second place. Bridewell and Glenn Irwin were both out of the top 12 Q2 qualifying positions.
At the half-way mark it was Ray, O’Halloran, Brookes, Hickman and Iddon. Bridewell got up-to tenth place, Tarran Mackenzie was in 12th place, Glenn Irwin was still out of the Q2 qualifying position in 13th.
With under ten minutes remaining in the session Mackenzie got inside the top ten and went into first place. Glenn Irwin was inside the top 12 in tenth place, Bridewell was in 11th place. FS-3 Racing’s Rory Skinner was in the cut off position for Q2 in 12th place.
The session was Red Flagged with three minutes to go due to Andrew Irwin and Gino Rea both crashing in separate incidents. The session was restarted with just three and a half minutes remaining.
At the end of the Free Practice session Mackenzie was in first place, Christian Iddon in second, Danny Buchan in third, O’Halloran fourth, Brad Ray fifth. Bridewell just got into the Q2 session finishing in 12th place. RICH Energy OMG’s Kyle Ryde just missed out finishing in 13th place, the Nottinghamshire rider will have to go through Q1 tomorrow.
