BSB: Tarran Mackenzie Wins Race One At The Season Finale At Brands Hatch.

Tarran Mackenzie Takes The First Vital Win Of The 2021 Season Final Round.
For Race One of the 2021 Season Final Round at Brands Hatch, Luke Mossey was on Pole Position, VisionTrack Ducati’s Christian Iddon was in second place, Championship leader Tarran Mackenzie rounded out the front row in third place. The weather at the Kent Circuit was dry for the Superbike race.
As the lights went out Tarran Mackenzie led the pack of 28 riders into Paddock Hill Bend, Christian Iddon took the lead at Druids, Rory Skinner was up-to third. Jason O’Halloran made up some places and got into eighth place. Tommy Bridewell was in fifth place.
Tarran was all-over the back wheel of Iddon, Andrew Irwin was in the mix in third place, just in front of Bridewell. There was a slight gap from Glenn Irwin in sixth place to O’Halloran in seventh place. Bridewell made his way into third place just as the safety car was brought out due to Josh Owens crashing out at Hawthornes on Lap six.
When the safety car pulled in Iddon was leading the field, the leading the trio pulled away from the pack. Mackenzie took the lead at Paddock Hill Bend, Bridewell and Iddon had a coming together at Druids, putting Tommy off his rhythm.
O’Halloran was in fifth place just behind Skinner. Bridewell got stuck in and caught the leading duo again, at this point Bridewell was the fastest man on track. Bridwell took second place from Iddon at the exit of Paddock Hill Bend. Skinner crashed out Stirlings handing fourth place to Jason O’Halloran.
Iddon seemed to be suffering with lack of grip by lap 13, this race was now a battle between Mackenzie and Bridewell! Bridewell was trying every which way to pass the Yamaha rider but Mackenzie wasn’t giving up his first place.
At the checkered flag Mackenzie brought his R1 home in first place, Bridewell had to settle for second place, Iddon was third, Jason O’Halloran finished in fourth place, Peter Hickman was fifth, Danny Buchan finished down in 11th place.
Tarran now leads the championship by 22 points from his team-mate Jason O’Halloran, Iddon is still in third place 24 points adrift from Mackenzie, Bridewell is in fourth place 26 points from Mackenzie. Race Two is all to play for tomorrow!! Tommy Bridewell is on Pole Position for Race Two tomorrow.
