BSB: Honda Announce A Four-Rider Team For Their 2022 Season Campaign.

Honda’s Current Superstock Champion Tom Neave Joins Glenn Irwin, Ryo Mizuno And Takumi Takahashi For The 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Season.

Honda have made the announcement that they will run a four-bike team for their 2022 season Championship Title hunt. All-three of their 2021 season riders remain in the team, with a new addition joining the team, Honda’s current Superstock Champion Tom Neave.

With the Louth-based Honda Racing Team running a four rider squad it shows just how committed Honda are to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Honda relish the opportunity to nurture young riders and with their Honda Challenge Programme. The programme is designed to help and support racers competing in national championships worldwide and to help them take further steps in their racing careers.

“I’m really pleased to see Tom move up the ranks into BSB for the 2022 season, it’s been a pleasure working with him in the Superstock class where we’ve watched him grow from his debut with the team, through to becoming the 2021 champion. It’s always great when you can support and nurture young talent into the next step of their career and it’s going to be an exciting season for him.
“I’m pleased Glenn is continuing with us. We know he has the pace to fight at the front, which he has shown in the last two seasons with the team, it’s just been bad luck that has hampered his progress as well as injury this season, but I am confident a fit Glenn Irwin can be a contender for the title. I expect good things and especially with the development from this season, what I want and what the team want is to step up and to fight more with the top runners on a consistent basis.
“Having Ryo and Takumi staying with the team is good and I enjoyed working with them this season and the input they had, at times they were starting to show more pace which will only help the team moving forward. Takumi Takahashi – Honda Racing Team
“I’ll participate the British Superbike Championship in 2022. In 2021, most of the circuits were new for me and because of my injury, I was frustrated by the results. I’ve already started preparations for 2022 season to get a good result. My first target is the podium, but I’ll do my best for the victory.”

Lincolnshire rider Tom Neave is very motivated and can’t wait to get testing on the Superbike, it’s always been his aim to graduate up-to the Superbike Class and he couldn’t be more happier than how he is feeling at the moment.
