RICH Energy OMG’s Bradley Ray Takes His second Victory Of The Weekend At Oulton Park.

It was cloudy but dry conditions at the rider and fan favorite circuit of Oulton Park. RICH Energy OMG’s Bradley Ray took the victory in race one yesterday, taking his first victory in four years. The grid for race two consisted of Brad Ray on pole position followed by his team-mate Kyle Ryde in second place and FS-3 Racing’s Rory Skinner rounding out the front row in third place.

Bradley Ray lead the pack of riders into Old Hall Bend, Lee Jackson had a strong start and into third place in front of his team-mate Rory Skinner. Kyle Ryde was on the heels of Brad Ray for first place. Tommy Bridewell was in fourth place with Leon Haslam just behind him.

BMW’s Andrew Irwin crashed out at Shell Oils on lap three. Brad Ray was setting fast lap records on each lap. Tommy Bridewell lost the front end at Lodge corner on lap four.

There was a five-way battle for sixth place from Peter Hickman to Honda’s Glenn Irwin, Danny Buchan was down in 11th place, the Essex rider wasn’t feeling too well and was struggling to find the pace he needed to keep inside the top ten.

At the half-way stage of the race Ray was still leading the way from Ryde and Jackson. The safety car was brought out due to Luke Mossey crashing at druids, the safety barrier needed to be put back in place.

The safety car pulled back into the pits, all the riders were now bunched up! Ray managed to pull a slight gap from his team-mate Ryde, Ryde was then coming under pressure from Lee Jackson. Haslam was catching the leading quartet in fifth place. Highest placed rookie was Chrissy Rousse in 15th place.

On lap 14 there was a three-way battle for sixth place between Christian Iddon, Jason O’Halloran and Hickman. Ray was 1.4s ahead of Ryde, Jackson was right on Ryde and made his move on the Nottinghamshire rider at Knickerbrook for second place. Haslam slipped underneath Skinner at Old Hall Bend for fourth place, he then went on to take third place from Kyle.

At the checkered flag Ray crossed the line to take his second victory of the weekend, Lee Jackson got second place, Leon Haslam got third place, Ryde was fourth and Skinner was fifth.

Race Two Results

Honda’s Glenn Irwin leads the championship by just one point from Brad Ray, will Brad do the triple later this afternoon? Race two is at 16.30.
