
WSBK: Toprak Razgatlioglu Wins The Superpole Race In Misano To Take His First Victory Of The 2022 Season.

Toprak Razgatlioglu Dominates the Superpole Race For His First Win Of His Championship Title defense.
It was perfect weather conditions again at the picturesque Misano circuit for the World Superbike Superpole race. Race one yesterday was yet again a shoot out between Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista. Toprak is desperate for his first victory of 2022, the reigning champion had a technical DNF in race one yesterday. Bautista was on pole position for the Superpole race, Toprak was in second place with Rea in third position.
Toprak got the holeshot in to turn one, followed by Jonathan Rea with Bautista in third. Alex Lowes made a sharp start remaining in fourth place. Rea took the lead at turn nine and ten, Toprak re-took the lead a lap later at turn two. The leading duo were pulling a slight gap from Bautista.
Eight laps to go and Bautista went underneath Rea but it was short lived as Rea took the second position back, the battling enabled Toprak to get away at the front. Rea and Bautista continued to swap positions throughout the next two laps. Honda’s Xavi Vierge was now in a strong fourth place, Michael Ruben Rinaldi was in fifth.
With five laps remaining in the race Toprak had a 2.5s lead at the front, Loris Baz crashed out at turn eight his fellow BMW rider Scott Redding was down in 11th place. Toprak was riding on the limit as he approached every corner desperate for his first 2022 victory!
Toprak crossed the finish line to take his first win of 2022, the Turkish rider wheeled over line in pure delight! Bautista won the battle for second place, Rea was third with Vierge in a close fourth place, Iker Lecuona was fifth.

Will Toprak’s winning form continue in race two this afternoon? Bautista now leads the championship by 24 points from Rea, there are 74 points between Bautista and Toprak.
