BSB: Danny Buchan Wins Race Two At Cadwell Park.

Danny Buchan Takes His First Victory Of The 2022 Season. The Essex Rider Is Just Outside Of The Showdown.

For race two at the Lincolnshire circuit of Cadwell Park Oxford Products Ducati Moto Rapido Racing’s Tommy Bridewell was on pole position, Tommy set a blistering lap yesterday in the Ebay Sprint Race. Joining Tommy on the front row of the grid was SYNETIQ BMW’s Danny Buchan and McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran.

As the lights went out it was Jason O’Halloran who lead the pack of 28 riders into Coppice, Buchan made a move on Jason to take the lead, Bridewell was in fifth place just behind Brad Ray. Lee Jackson was making his way up the order after having started way down on the grid.

Rory Skinner was on Jason’s back wheel just waiting to make his move for second place. Jason responded to Rory by putting in the fastest lap of the race after four laps. Buchan and O’Halloran started to break away from the rest of the field after five laps of the race.

Brad Ray got the better of Skinner at Park to take third place, Bridewell then took third place from Skinner at Coppice. Brad Ray slipped underneath O’Halloran at Park for second place, Buchan put the fastest lap of the race in with 10 laps remaining to the race. Bradley was now in the hunt for the first place position as he put the fastest lap of the race in on lap nine.

Bridewell slipped up the inside of O’Halloran at Coppice for third place, Skinner was just about hanging on to fifth place, Leon Haslam was in sixth place. Bridewell was looking comfortable in third place, O’Halloran was in fourth place and out of a podium credits position. Tarran Mackenzie was in 11th place proving Cadwell Park is not one of his favorite circuits!

With five laps remaining to the race Leon Haslam passed O’Halloran for fourth place, then Skinner made a move on the Australian causing Jason to sit up, he was now in seventh place. Buchan had a 0.5s lead from Brad Ray, the OMG rider looked settled in second place. Brad’s team-mate Kyle Ryde was down 15th place.

Josh Brookes crashed at the Mountain on lap 16, the race was Red Flagged so that was the race completed. Danny Buchan took his first race win of the 2022 season, Ray was second, Bridewell finished in third place, Haslam was fourth with Skinner in fifth.

The victory for Buchan has moved the Essex rider into ninth place in the championship standings, just 39 points outside the showdown positions. Jason O’Halloran and Bradley Ray are now level in the championship standings.
