Mar-Train Racing and Jack Kennedy Get their First Taste of British Superbike Action.

Mar-Train Racing and Jack Kennedy have had a testing first weekend in the Bennetts British Superbike as the Championship made its return to the Grand Prix circuit layout at Donington Park.

The 2022 Quattro Supersport Champion made his Superbike debut on board a Mar-Train prepared R1 with direct help from Yamaha and Raceways.

The Dubliner had very little track time due to a small off in FP1 and bad weather conditions during FP2 resulting in minimum laps.

During racing on Sunday Jack improved his lap times with his pace increasing in every lap, resulting in him finishing in an impressive 17th position.

From Jack’s performance, the team gained valuable data which they will use to move forward and to help them grow in any areas they can improve on and to take those small steps moving forward to Brands Hatch.

A really testing first weekend on the Mar-Train Yamaha R1 at Donington, but that’s why we’re here. In Race one we didn’t get the greatest start. We had quite a big crash which gave the team a lot of work to do and then we also had an engine change to do so the lads have really had to pull their weight and get stuck in on the big bike this weekend.

We’ve managed to improve every time we’ve went out on track – we have improved our pace, we’ve gone quicker in every session. We have collected some really good data from the races, and we’ve worked really well as a team.

I think we have a lot of knowledge on board that we can bring to Round 11 at Brands Hatch and then into the winter which we can use to hit the ground running for next year.

Big thanks to Mar-Train, Raceways and McAMS Yamaha for all their help this weekend and we look forward to Brands Hatch in two weeks’ time.

First time in the British Superbike class for Mar-Train Racing and it was a baptism of fire.

We had a small off in Free Practice one and we didn’t go out in Free Practice two due to the weather so we had very little track time but through qualifying and Race one on Saturday, we started to improve and Jack’s lap times were decreasing considerably.

I think with a little more track time we could have got into the 1.29-time bracket – it wasn’t meant to be but we managed to get 17th position today. Not something I would usually get excited about but to get a finish and come 17th is great. I

It is our first weekend in the Superbike class so onwards to Brands Hatch and try to get the year wrapped up nicely.
