WSBK: Toprak Razgatlioglu Wins Race Two as Alvaro Bautista Crashes Out

Toprak Razgatlioglu took his fourth victory of the season and his first feature race win
It was 60 degree track temperature at the Emilia Romagna circuit of Imola, due to the extreme temperatures the race distance was reduced by four laps to 15 laps.
Toprak Razgatlioglu started from pole position after a fantastic victory in the Superpole race ahead of Alvaro Bautista and Andrea Locatelli.
The lights went out and it was Bautista who took the holeshot into turn one but lost the front at turn three! Toprak took the lead and this was a big moment for the Turkish rider to take his first long race victory of the season.
Axel Bassani was climbing up the order from the second row of the grid, out-dragging Locatelli and Jonathan Rea down the home straight to move into second place, Rea then passed Locatelli into turn nine.
Bradley Ray had a fantastic start from tenth on the grid into eighth place behind Scott Redding and Michael Ruben Rinaldi. Rinaldi passed Redding into the final chicane on lap four.
It was a three way battel for the lead between Toprak, Bassani and Rea, the Italian was hungry for a home podium, but even more for a victory.
Bassani attacked Toprak into turn seven and the crowds were going wild with the home rider taking the lead for the first time.
Bassani was given a track limits warning, he was pushing his MotoCorsa Ducati to it’s absolute limit, Toprak was glued to the Panigale’s rear tyre but wasn’t able to attempt any kind of move.
Alex Lowes was given a track limits warning with four laps remaining and he crashed out of the race at turn seven.
Toprak made his move into turn 17 with Bassani attacking into 18 but the Yamaha came out on top, the battle for the win was on with three laps to go.
Toprak put the hammer down and extended his lead by over 0.7 seconds with Bassani seemingly struggling with his rear tyre.
Toprak Razgatlioglu took victory can closed Bautista’s championship lead to 70 points, Axel Bassani finished an amazing second place and Jonathan Rea took another third place. Locatelli was fourth ahead of Rinaldi in fifth.
Bradley Ray finished an incredible sixth place ahead of Loris Baz who beat Scott Redding to be the top BMW rider with Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona rounding out the top ten.
