WorldSSP: Tarran Mackenzie claims an emotional first World Supersport win

By Luke Newman
Former British Superbike Champion, Tarran Mackenzie, stole the show at Most as he claimed his first win in the World Supersport class.
Tarran Mackenzie has not had the best of times in his first season in the WorldSBK paddock. The 27-year-old joined the Petronas MIE Honda WorldSSP team at the start of the 2023 season and points have been hard to come by for the British rider.
However, Mackenzie showed to all earlier in the year that when the conditions are right he can fight towards the front on the world stage. At Phillip Island the rookie finished inside the top five and entered the class with a bang.
But now the Scottish born rider has gone one step further and taken his Honda machinery to a battle at the front at Most. When the conditions worsened Mackenzie found himself at the front and gambled with staying on slick tyres and when the rain stopped and the track started to dry Mackenzie was in luck…
Mackenzie took the lead and never looked back as he went on to claim victory in the World Supersport class!
