We go into Round 3 of the R&G British Talent Cup with the incredibly sad news that John Cresswell team owner and principle of the Microlise Cresswell Racing team has passed away suddenly aged 60. A former British champion and Grand Prix racer himself, John was the beating heart of the British Talent Cup scene and will be sorely missed by all of the BSB paddock and organisation. His personal dedication to guiding the early stages of many top class racers careers can`t be put into words, there will be a ripple of sadness at this week’s event for sure. The Shortshift News office would like to offer condolences to John’s family, friends, supporters and the whole Cresswell Racing Team. Rest easy Crezzy.

28 riders will form the grid of the 2024 Snetterton 300 round three of the championship. Lucas Brown (Sencat – Mortimer Talent Team) sits comfortably on the top of the points table with a 17 point advantage over rival Amanuel Brinton (RS Racing), the tall West Sussex rider will be aiming to keep this momentum going at the three mile circuit where he grabbed his first BSB podium in 2023 with a second place finish in Race two.

Ryan Frost (MLav Fibre Tech) currently holding third place after his win at Donnington trails Brown by 19 points with American Julian Correa (Microlise Cresswell) a further 10 points adrift, Correa will be desperate to make up the points gap after his disastrous long lap penalty at round two and the DNF in race three at Navarra. British European Talent Cup rider Kyle Payne makes his debut as wildcard rider at the Norfolk venue, the experienced 17-year-old will be hoping to make a big impact on his first BTC visit to Snetterton.

Hold on to your seats – this one will be a thriller. (Snetterton 5/6/7 July).
