The Penultimate Round Of The R&G 2024 BTC Championship Promises To Serve Up A Double Helping Of Tension And Full Throttle Excitement.

By Ed Lewis.

With 5 races and 125 valuable points still on offer, It’s Lucas Brown (SENCAT Talent Team- Mortimer Racing) who holds the series advantage by 38 points. The tall West Sussex rider has displayed an impressive blend of pace and consistency so far this season scoring points in every race with two wins to his credit at Navarra and Snetterton respectively. The Oulton park layout will certainly suit his sensational style of late braking and brave overtaking.

Race 2 winner at this event in 2023 Amanuel Brinton (RS racing) will be hoping to put his Thruxton point’s cataclysm behind him. The Valencia based Brinton will have his Kovara Projects Honda NSF batteries fully charged after the long break hoping to pull something out the bag to bridge the gap on rival Brown.

Lady luck will also need to smile upon Ryan Frost (Fibre Tec Honda) if he`s hoping to challenge for the title cup. His race 2 technical issue at the previous round certainly dented his climb up the ranks but being no stranger to the top podium step he will be determined to make amends. Don’t discount Julian Correa (Microlise Cresswell Racing), the American has found speed and consistency in the final half of 2024 and currently sits just 25 points off second spot. Filip Surowiak (RS Racing) still has a chance of a top three place in the cup and will be looking to impress the Dorna officials for his chance of a European ride in 2025 with two wins to his credit this season. Ronnie Harris and Harrison Mackay will also be in the teams shop window for 2025, both are evidently on a very quick learning curve on the edge of the front group so don’t be surprised if there’s some roller coaster shocks in store.

Oulton Park September 13th -15th.
