BSB: OMG Racing’s Kyle Ryde is crowned the 2024 Bennetts British Superbike Champion.
By Dawn Hammersley
Kyle Ryde lifted the 2024 BSB championship trophy after an epic third race battle with championship rival Tommy Bridewell.
The Bennetts British Superbike fans were delivered some of the best racing ever witnessed at the Kent circuit of Brands Hatch. The championship went down to the wire in the final Superbike race of the season finale.
Tommy Bridewell got to the front of the field in race three, Kyle was running in fourth place and had work to do! Once the Jacksdale rider got into second place behind Tommy the thrilling battling commenced.
The leading duo left the rest of the field behind them as they were putting fastest lap times in, switching positions and even touching handle bars at one point! On the final lap Tommy was riding very defensive but Kyle was just able to make the move he needed and held on to the lead as they stormed through Clear Ways for the final time.
Kyle won the 2024 championship title in what’s been described as the best ever BSB race to date, taking over from the epic battle between Tommy Hill and John Hopkins.
All the 2024 title champions lined-up on the Brands Hatch grid for their celebratory photo, R&G British Talent Cup winner Lucas Brown was missing due to competing in the Jnr GP Championship in Spain.
